Write for us
We welcome pitches that make one aspect of emeralds easier to see: a material detail, a craft choice, a carefully framed piece of history or a useful way to compare objects without claiming more than the evidence allows.
What to pitch
Send a focused proposal about emerald colour, formation, cutting, setting, care, objects or cultural history. A strong pitch names its central question, explains what a reader will understand afterwards and identifies the kinds of sources or references it would draw on.
The right scale
We prefer a single clear subject to a broad survey. Keep claims proportionate, avoid treating cultural meanings as universal and do not promise to authenticate, grade or value individual stones. Original writing is expected; disclose relevant commercial interests or supplied material.
How to send a proposal
Use the Contact page, choose the editorial question option and include a working title, a short outline and a little context about your approach. Please send a proposal rather than a completed article unless we have requested one.
